National Distillers revealed the manufacturing process of one of the most popular spirits in the national market. The stand recreates the assembly line, from the delivery of the ingredients to the filling and, finally, the product packaging. During the fourdays, visitors had the chance to see inside one of the few spirits factories in Angola and taste the finished product. According to the JE team, the beverage industry has recorded a remarkable growth in the last 10 years, representing around 4% of GDP. According to the economic indicators, the beverage industry has a strong potential to become the second driving force of Angolan economy, following the oil industry.
However, the industry employs more than 14 thousand Angolans, and National Distillers is an important player, holding about 50% of the market share. With a strong export potential, based on the model established in Angola, the company with 415 Angolan employees is focused on market diversification. It is currently studying the potential for exports to neighbouring countries such as DRC and Congo Brazzaville, among other markets. "We have become partners of the Executive in the national effort todiversify the economy and increase exports.
Therefore, we believe it is important to familiarise the public with our processes, creating a new experience for thepeople who visit our stand, which we consider to be an exercise in transparency that helps to demonstrate our commitment to quality and to the production registered in Angola", said the company's marketing coordinator, Katyney Dias, in statements to JE. Established in 2015 in an investment valued at more than 9 million dollars, National Distillers has a registered capital of 10 million kwanzas.
